Review and Giveaway: Vampire Vacation - A Novel of the VV Inn by C.J. Ellisson

Meet Vivian. She's a 580-year-old vampire who exudes sex, has a talent for drama, and is passionate about two things: her human husband, Rafe, and their resort for the undead. Her ability to project physical illusions has created the perfect vacation spot -- a dark, isolated Alaskan hideaway where visitors can have their wildest fantasies come true.
Vivian knows the best performance requires perfect timing, but the powerful vamp is put to the test when she discovers a corpse in a locked guestroom minutes before the next arrivals. Always cool-headed, Rafe hides the body, convinced that he and Vivian can find the culprit without disturbing their guests.
Juggling the increasingly outrageous demands of their customers while tracking a killer isn't easy. Will their poking and prodding give them the answers they need, or will it uncover secrets that Vivian would kill to protect?

My Thoughts:

As the story opens, Viv and her hubby Rafe, who is human and she has a blood bond with, are getting ready for their guests to show up. Viv discovers a body, and now she and her hubby and their staff are on the hunt for a killer. Viv is a Manipulator, which means she is a vampire that has powers to make other believe AND see things that are not really there or happening, and she is the last one, but with these power's she must keep them a secret as Manipulator's are considered way to powerful to live.

Viv's only has two things that are the most important things to her, her human hubby Rafe, and her resort which is located in Alaska, which I found a very cool place to have a resort, you don't find many resort's in Alaska in a vampire story, I found this very original.  So Viv uses her powers to help her guest have a wonderful time while staying at the resort, Viv can see what they want most, what they desire the most......sexually, she is true to her hubby Rafe this ability is only used for her guest's.

I really enjoyed Vampire Vacation, although it's about Vampire's, they is a very diverse and mix of employees and guest, vampires and werewolves and humans and not to mention all the sex.  It has lots of sex almost boarding on Erotic but not quite.  It was a great mix, through in some mystery, some humor and a great who don-it, you've got your self a great book here.  It was nice and easy to read, but pay attention as there are some great twists and turns you won't want to miss out on.  I love to read anything paranormal, and this one had pretty much everything I love to read about, well throw in some sex, I did tell you about the sex right lol, and you got yourself a fantastic read. It grabs you right from the beginning and holds you right to the end of the novel.  I loved the cover art for the book, that caught my eye right away, It's beautiful.

I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out, I have the priviledge of being able to read and review it for C.J. Ellisson and i must say I am so excited to be doing so. I will have my review posted Oct 7.  I hope you will all get a chance to pick up your copy, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. Enjoy!!!!!!

Review and Giveaway: After All is Said and Done by Belinda G. Buchanan

Nobody wakes up one morning and decides that today is the day they are going to cheat on their spouse.  When the opportunity presents itself however, it is ultimately a choice.  And that choice, whether good or bad, can have irrevocable consequences.

Ethan and Jessica Harrington are doctors who work alongside fellow doctors Gavin and Sarah Williams.  After Jessica has an affair with Gavin, their lives are thrown into turmoil as they deal with the aftermath and subsequent fallout.
For the better part of a year the four of them have been working to piece their marriages back together.  Sarah and Gavin are still reeling from a devastating miscarriage, while Jessica and Ethan are hesitantly looking forward to the birth of their first child.

Sarah’s hopes are immediately shattered when she learns how far Gavin’s infidelity has gone.  Suddenly thrown into an unwanted independence she fights to find her way.

Jessica struggles to repair her marriage to Ethan as they become parents.  But when Ethan, a borderline alcoholic, learns a dark secret, his world steadily begins to crumble.  His drinking, fueled by this discovery slowly engulfs him.  Jessica’s love for him is only matched by her fear of his temper.  With his marriage now in pieces and his sanity questionable, Ethan struggles to come to terms with his alcoholism and face his past.

Theirs is a story of the tremendous amount of love some people have for one another, regardless of the pain that is sometimes inflicted.

My Thoughts:
Well what a book this turned out to be.  When I read the blurb, I really wasn't sure how I would like it, I have been through my own marriage troubles and in the end what was best for me was to end it.  I am now very happy with the man of my dreams.  I was leary reading it would dredge up feelings I didn't want to visit again, that wasn't the case at all.

When starting the book you look at the number of pages it is, 659 on my ereader and sometimes when a book is that long you think goodness is the book going to drag on, not the case at all with this one.  Once you start turning the pages you CANNOT put this book down, I was up until 2am so I could try to finish reading it, and when I had to put it down I was finding myself thinking about the book and what was going to happen next. It totally sucked me in and would not let go until I read the very last word, and when I read the last word, I sat in my purple chair and said "Holy Crap on a Cracker" lol I instantly went to the author's website and found out another book is coming. So I relaxed a bit knowing there's more to come, but then I realized "oh man" I gotta wait for the next one.

The story the author has created for these 2-couple's was nothing short of amazing.  To see the twists and turns between both couple's made me chuckle at times, made my heartbreak, made me gasp as I couldn't believe that just happened, and I actually cried in a few part, I mean tears, some of sadness and some of happiness.

I really liked Belinda's writing style, the story flowed well and the plot was clear and concise, it was really cool how just when you thought you figured out where the story was heading, Belinda threw in a twist you never saw coming.  I did find myself taking a look at my own life and say how much could I forgive.  It's a story that makes you think and it's a story you will think  about long after you have finished reading it.  I highly recommend this book to all and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  Enjoy!!!!

TAKE ME DOWN
By Lauren Hawkeye
Pub date: September 1, 2011

Evie may feel like she doesn’t measure up to her prettier, younger sister, but she still knows what she wants—Lucas, her cousin’s sexy roommate. She’s dreamed about being with him for a long time, and on the sweltering night of her sister’s wedding, it’s clear he shares her lust. Now Evie is determined to take what she desires—even if it’s just for one night….
Book One of Lauren Hawkeye’s Erotic Me series

My Thoughts:
Ok ladies, you are going to love this book, I read Erotic books all the time, but, this is the first time I have reviewed it on my blog.  It's a little book with a huge punch. It's 23-pages in total, now I know what your thinking, how could such a small book be any good, it's over before it's begun.  That's just not the case with Take Me Down.

It starts off fast and draws you right into the story, Evie is a lady with big self esteem issues, and when her sister beats her to the alter, it makes her feel even worse about herself, that is until Lucas meets her in the kitchen very late on the night after her sister's wedding.  Like I said it starts fast and just keeps getting faster and faster.  I liked the story line, and Evie and Lucas fit together just like they were meant to fit together. I really enjoyed this little book and I really looking forward to book 2.

This is a 4-part series, and I will doing one book each month, the next book in October, so if you don't want to wait for my review of the next book, you can pick up your copy and beat me to it lol, I know you won't be disappointed this is a fantastic read.

Bridgeway Academy Fundraiser: A school for children who have ADHD

Good Morning Everyone,

This post holds a very special place in my heart and I hope you will all join me in helping a Dr. Camilla Hancock-Friesen that works in my home town who is trying to raise money for Bridgeway Academy.  This is a special school that teaches children who have special learning abilities, ADHD and behavioral problems.  They provide special size classrooms so that the kids get that one on one attention they so badly need.

My oldest son has ADHD/ODD (Attention Deficet Hyperactive Disorder & Oppositional Defiant Disorder), my youngest is borderline ADHD and my boyfriend has ADHD as well and I have OCD.  When my oldest was younger I fought for years to try and get him into this school, the cost is $15,000.000 per year, I just didn't have the money, I fought the public school system to help him have a decent education that he has a right to that every "normal" child has a right to, but, because the public system does not recognize it as a "Real" mental disorder he had such a rough time in school. He didn't graduate but is now 20 and doing well, he works full time for 2 jobs and has lots of friends now, my youngest is in grade 11 and doing ok. My boyfriend struggles everyday as we are still trying to find the right medicine for him, but he is doing ok otherwise.

I am doing this post to help with this fundraiser not only because it's so close to home for me, but, because I think it should be talked about more, and made aware of that this is not a case of having a hard to manage child/adult, it's a REAL Mental Disorder and the more people accept that the more we can find out more about it and help those who have it.  I have 2 links for you to follow, one is the Academy's website if you want to learn more about the school http://www.bridgeway-academy.com/, and the other is a link to a video on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLiToxgeH6E

If you are able to vote and donate even something small that would be a huge help for this amazing school that so many children need and can't afford.

Thank you everyone for your time and listening to me.  :)

Jason McIntyre Interview/giveaway of BLED

Today I have the pleasure of welcoming back to the Purple Jelly Bean Chair Reviews a fantastic Author and a great friend of mine.  When I first started my purple jelly bean blog, Jason McIntyre was the first Author to give me a chance and allow me to read/review his awesome novel Thalo Blue. I had sometime before I started to blog read Jason's novella called SHED, I was very impressed.  So when I saw Jason on Goodreads I emailed him and told him how much I loved his book, our friendship took off from there. On September 18th, Jason released his second in the Dovetail Cove series which is called BLED. BLED is book 1, SHED is book 2.  Now I am not done reading yet, but I will tell you what I have read so far, is nothing short of amazing, but reading Jason's books I didn't expect anything less.
I got a chance to sit down with Jason and have an interview with him.  So without further ado, please help me welcome Jason to the Purple Jelly Bean Chair Review, Jason welcome, please have a seat in the Purple Jelly Bean Chair.

Jason McIntyre

Author of the bestsellers: ON THE GATHERING STORM and SHED

Plus the #1 Kindle Suspense: THE NIGHT WALK MEN

She only wanted to leave. But he took that option from her. Now she wants it back.

Set on the same island as the reader favorite Shed, the latest literary suspense novella from bestselling author Jason McIntyre picks up the Dovetail Cove saga with this story of one lonely woman...trapped.

Tina McLeod is on the cusp of a new life. Extraordinary change is rare in her world but this newsflash means she can finally leave her small island town for good. No more pouring coffee for townsfolk in Main Street’s greasy spoon, no more living under the weight of her born-again mother. That is, until Frank Moort comes in for his usual lunch and dessert on an ordinary Friday in May.

Bled sees things turn backwards and upside down for each of them. Their encounter is prolonged and grotesque, the sort of thing splashing the covers of big city newspapers. Both are changed. And neither will come out clean on the other side.

A story about taking what’s not yours, Bled explores pushing back when you’ve been pushed too far. It paints in red the horrors from our most commonplace of surroundings: right out in the open where nothing can hide behind closed doors and shut mouths.

What is your name and where do you call home?

I'm Jason McIntyre and I reside in the Farthest Reaches of your imagination. Been there a while now. It's comfy. Cushy really. You sure you should be eating that?

What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 20 or less words, what would you say?
BLED. It's about a young woman with everything to lose who comes up against a man who has nothing to lose and set against small town life in the 1970s. Was that twenty? Do I fail?

If you gave some of your characters an opportunity to speak for themselves, what would they say?
Teeny might ask you if she can get you a refill on that coffee cup, "Warm it up for ya, darlin'?" And her cafe customer, Frank Moort, might say, "Just bring my bill. Gotta get back. Big meeting this afternoon, y'know. Lotsa important people making big decisions. BIG decisions, don't y'know."

Do you have plans for a new book? Is this book part of a series?
BLED is indeed part of a series, one that sprang up unintentionally. It takes place in the island town of Dovetail Cove, the same place as featured in my book from last year, SHED. Yes, the titles rhyme. That was purely by accident, I swear.

But BLED isn't a sequel per se. It takes place two years before SHED, a book about two little boys facing off against their maniacal stepfather. You could call it a prequel, but both books can still stand on their own. You don't need to read one to 'get' the other.

At what age did you know you wanted to become a writer?
Probably I knew I wanted to tell stories around eight or nine or ten. The idea of actually being a writer? I'm still not convinced that I should do that. Can anyone make money at it? You know, *other* than New York Times bestsellers?

What or who inspired you to write?
I can't get the ideas out of my head any other way. And if they don't come out, they rot other (more important) parts of said head. Yes, more rhyming. You see how messed up I am?

Do you gift books to readers for book reviews?
Yes!

When you start to write a new novel, what is the process for you, do you start with a small idea and when you sit to write is that when the story starts to flow, or, before you start to write do you already have the whole story worked out?
I need to start with a fairly big, fairly complex idea if and one that I'm excited about it. If I'm going to spend months with the idea it has to be more interesting to me than anything else. I also need it centred on characters I'm going to fall for, in one way or another. I either need to hate them or love them. I can't be indifferent, even at the start, or I will give up. I'm lazy that way.

But no, I most definitely do not have the whole story worked out. If I did, there'd be no incentive to keep writing it. I'd already know where it leads.

When you write, do you write from start to finish, or in the middle, or at the end first?
Start to finish. So far I've never written anything out of order. I do reserve the right to try that sometime. Since I have written so many out-of-sequence narrative structures, it might prove easier for me.

Have you based any of your characters on someone you know, or real events in your own life?
Always. No, I'm not telling who.

Seriously, I don't write based on any one person. I think characters and experiences add to a collective 'stew' of ideas and particulars and when I write, I draw from that, borrowing willy-nilly whatever suits the character or plot movement best.

What books have most influenced your writing most and why?
Good ones. I don't have a lot of time for extremely populist fiction. Some of it is very good, and popular for a reason. Some of it is popular because it's been marketing really well.

Is there an Author that you would really like to meet?
I like meeting all individuals who have had the tenacity to put pen to paper and craft something, a story, a book, a series. I have tremendous respect for writers who produce work and try to find a way to get it read. I would love to meet any people who are in that camp!

Do you prefer ebooks, paperbacks or hardcover?
Ebooks! There's no doubt of the tactile beauty of a lovely book, cover art, even the smell of the pages. But this new opportunity for inexpensive, readily available books that I can carry with me in a stack of digital hundreds, well, it makes me giddy.

Have you ever read a book more than once?
Yes! The best ones are rereads. The two (presently available) works of Jeffrey Eugenides and those of Paolo Coehlo come to mind.
I always strive to craft books that readers will want to read again. If my readership did that regularly, I'd consider the book a success.

Is there a particular movie that you preferred over the book version?
The Shawshank Redemption. The novella is good. But the movie is epic.

What book are you currently reading and in what format (electronic/paperback/hardcover)?
I'm writing at the moment so I'm not reading anything. Never the twain shall meet, as they say.

Is there anything you would change in your last book and why?
If there's something I would change then I change it before I let people read it. If I mature over the next fifteen years and re-read some of my books from this period, I may cringe. Who knows? But I'll try to answer a question like this better at that time.

Who designed the cover of your book?
I did.

Do you have a book trailer? What are your thoughts on book trailers?
Yes! I like good book trailers. Some I've seen have all the dollars and design behind them of a huge Hollywood blockbuster film. Others are shorter, more teasing, and, frankly, better. I don't want to know the whole plot, just get a sense of the book. The blurb should tell me if it's the kind of book I would read.

What is the best advice that you can give to aspiring writers?
Let people read your work -- as many as are willing. Then listen to what they say. You don't need to agree with it -- in fact you may hardly ever agree -- but listen anyway. It will help. Somehow, organically, even if it's your next story, having feedback will help you.

Do you or have you written/write under a pen name?
I haven't!

Cats or dogs?
Neither. No time.

About the Author
Jason McIntyre has lived and worked in varied places across the globe. His writing also meanders from the pastoral to the garish, from the fantastical to the morbid. Vibrant characters and vivid surroundings stay with him and coalesce into novels and stories. Before his time as an editor, writer and communications professional, he spent several years as a graphic designer and commercial artist.

McIntyre's writing has been called darkly noir and sophisticated, styled after the likes of Chuck Palahniuk but with the pacing and mass appeal of Stephen King. The books tackle the family life subject matter of Jonathan Franzen but also eerie discoveries one might find in a Ray Bradbury story or those of Rod Serling.

Jason McIntyre’s books include the #1 Kindle Suspense, The Night Walk Men, Bestsellers On The Gathering Storm and Shed, plus the multi-layered coming-of-age literary suspense Thalo Blue.

Chapter Twelve

Excerpt :

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping on my windowsill and moved to slide out of bed to shut the window. The sharp pain in my temple and the thick feeling of my tongue when I pried it from the roof of my mouth were the first indications that something had gone down while I was sleeping. You got out again, didn't you? How are you doing this?

Shadekar's snide laugh slid like oil through my head and made me wince. “Nice jammies you've got there, Sister Mary Floozy Pants.”

“Jammies? What?” My eyes turned to look downward, and I jumped at the sight of the yards and yards of pristine white cotton that covered me from the buttoned collar at my throat to the frilly trim that dangled over my toes. “How in the hell did I get into this? I know you sure as hell didn't put me in it.” I fisted my hands in the soft fabric and looked around for clues as I pulled the nightgown off and threw it in the garbage bin. “What the hell?”

My bottom was covered in the most modest pair of underpants I had ever seen. They covered me from the top of my thighs to above the dip of my belly button with even more of the virginal white cotton. The crowning insult of the entire outfit was the matronly brassiere that had my chest in a strangle hold, the likes of which none of the bras I'd ever been forced to wear could compare with.

“Ooh, baby. Now that is some sexy shit there, Blondie.”

Shade, shut up. This is your fault. Who the hell did this to me?

A pair of dark blue eyes under a fringe of unruly black hair played behind my eyes and I groaned. Shade let me see Azrael carrying my sleeping form back to my room, wave his hand over me to change the outfit I'd had on to the one I'd woken up in before he put me in bed and left quietly.

“Damn it.”

It took me all of five minutes to get dressed, brush my teeth and run down the hall. I knew that Rae would be in his office by now. I threw the solid oak door open without knocking in my hurry to find out just what he'd seen while Shade had been in control. “Rae, what the hell hap…?”

My sentence stopped abruptly as I skidded to a halt behind a tall man with cropped brown hair and the widest shoulders I'd ever seen. “Oh, sorry. You have company - I'll come back later.”

Rae leaned over to peer around his guest and smiled when he saw me. “Afternoon Ardy, nice to see you're wearing more than what I last saw you in.” He waved at one of the chairs in front of his desk. “You might want to stick around. I think you know my guest - Brody?”

The big guy turned and I looked up into a pair of eyes I'd thought never to see again. There they were, the eyes I'd seen in my dreams every night and the dimples - oh, God. He still had the dimples and the roguish smile that had charmed me even at the tender age of six.

My right hand trembled and it rose to dart out and touch the solid chest that was level with my face. “Oh, shit. You're real.”

Brody's laugh at my comment was rich, husky and warm like the whisky that I had the night before. His own hand, so much bigger and more tanned than my own pale one, came up and caught mine before I could snatch it back. “I'm real and damn happy to have finally found you, again.”

“Again, what?” I looked up at him, confusion clouding the blue of my eyes. “You found me before?”

Azrael rose from his chair and rounded the hand carved oak desk. “I'll leave you two to catch up. There are a few things I need to, um, yeah. I'm just going to go.”

If either of us heard Rae leave, we showed no sign of it. We stared at each other, mesmerized by the fact that we were finally together again.

“I brought your bag.” Brody held up the tattered and patched up satchel that had carried everything I owned for the last seven years.

It took a moment of confused blinking before I realized what he was talking about and was able to form a coherent thought. “I, um. How did you get it?”

He deposited the bag on the chair next to me and then reached to take my other hand inside of his large one. I couldn't help but look down at our hands and notice the differences between us, the obvious ones and the not so obvious, before I pulled my hands free and stepped back out of touching range. It wasn't because I didn't want him touching me; I just never allowed anyone to touch me, ever.

Brody was dark where I was light, callused where I was soft, and relaxed when I was freaked out despite being thrilled to see him. I opened myself up a bit to taste his energy and what I found had me stumbling back to look up at him, eyes gone wide with wonder. Whatever he was hiding behind the broad shouldered all-American boy looks had eyes that glowed gold when it had looked back at me.

“What are you?”

His eyes flashed gold at my question and then I knew. I felt warm fur brush across my skin and the scents of the forest blew over my senses. “Werewolf?”

“Yep. Just like the rest of my family.” He sat down in the empty chair and smiled up at me before reaching out to take my left hand in his. “Sit with me, please? I'll explain what I meant about finding you again.”

My denim-covered ass parked itself in the chair my bag was in and I pulled my hand from his. I reached back to jockey the bag around so I'd have more room to keep my trembling hands out of Brody's. I took advantage of the distraction to settle my emotions and smooth my frayed nerves before turning around to face him once more. “Okay, explain.”

He leaned forward, elbows on knees and let his hands hang loosely between us. I knew he was giving me the option to take them or not and he was going to be disappointed because I wouldn't, couldn't touch him back. I wanted to, so much, but the fear of rejection ran deep. Shade had been successful in that endeavor. I would never be comfortable with anyone touching me.

“Do you recall much about what happened just before your accident? Maybe someone was calling out for you to stop?”

I nodded, the events before the BMW slammed into me replayed in my mind.

“That was me. The voice that tried to stop you from running out in front of that car was mine. I'm the one who called the ambulance and took care of you before it arrived. I stood outside the hospital every damned day while you were there, praying to a God that I don't believe in that you'd be okay.” He turned his face up toward mine and caught my eyes with his own golden ones. “If I hadn't had that bag of yours, I'd have never known to go see Dr. Martals or how to find you after you disappeared from the hospital.”

The mention of my doctor's name snapped my attention into focus. I pulled my bag around to my lap and ripped it open in search of the notebook that held the details of my life. It was the only place he could have found information about Celine and - oh, shit. “How much of this did you read?”

He at least had the decency to blush before responding that he'd read most of it and had seen that I'd remembered him throughout the years. “Even my birthdays. Why?”

“You were the only person who was ever nice to me; the only person in twenty five years to show me something other than contempt, disgust or fear.” Brody reached out to take my hand in his and I scooted back in my chair, the wooden legs scraping against the hardwood floor. I stood and hedged toward the door. “I'm sorry, Brody. I've been looking forward to seeing you again since that last time in school but, I can't. I'm too afraid that you'll reject me too once you know what I am.”

The doorknob was in my hand before I knew it and I was out the door, running down the hall without hearing the words that he spoke next.

“I know what you are and I'm okay with it.”

In the Shadows
By Julieanne Lynch
Published July 21st 2011
Strict Publishing International
ISBN 9780857791962

“In The Shadows”, the first of The Shadows trilogy, is an urban fantasy of vampires and the supernatural, and much, much more. In the shadows you will find lust and passion, battles for power and for blood, and death and fear around every corner. In the shadows you are carried away to an unknown future. Your destiny awaits, and you are no longer who you thought you were. You have a thirst, for blood perhaps, but a thirst for very much more than that.
Giselle was a normal girl with an attitude common to most girls of her age. Her family might not have been perfect (whose is?) but she loved them, and her future looked bright. She had an awesome best friend and a steady boyfriend, but how could she possibly have been so wrong about someone she loved? And how could she have been prepared for the darkness and for what she was to become?
“In The Shadows is a must read for anyone who loves urban fantasy.” ~Review by Dawn and Wini Book Lovers
“ Julieanne writes so eloquently you can feel and picture everything Giselle is going through, with no question as to what role every character in the book plays.” ~Review by Ada McEwan
“Julieanne is a great story teller with a vivid imagination for the supernatural. I absolutely love everything about it.” ~Reviewed by Firefly and Wisp

My Thoughts:
Julieanne's book "In the Shadows" is the first book in the Shadow's trilogy, and what a way to start off a series. This book had me sucked in right from page one.  I haven't read Urban Fantasy before and was glad I once again went out of my comfort zone again. I have been doing that a lot lately, and haven't been dissapointed yet.  It's allowed me to read new Author's and fantastic books like this one.

Its an easy read but pay attention so you don't miss all the twists and turns that are thrown at you.  I really like the characters in this book, they all fit together nicely to make up a great story.  Giselle, a once normal girl has been forced into a life she didn't want, but I love her strength and determination for getting through it the best she can.  I can't really say too much as to not give away the story, but I can tell you, you're going to love this book as much as I did.

I've read a lot of Vampire books, this one puts an original spin on it, it's action packed, suspense, thrilling and romance.  I can't wait for the second book in the series to see what happens next with Giselle.  This is a absolutely MUST READ book. I hope you all have as much fun reading it as I did, Enjoy!!!!!

Julieanne is giving away multiple ecopies of her book, so fill out the form below for your chance to win a copy for yourself.

Review/Giveaway and Interview for Boyfriend From Hell by E. Van Lowe

Aww, Hell No!
Fifteen year-old Megan Barnett and her single mom, Suze, have a special relationship—they are friends, close friends, who do almost everything together.
“But come on, guys, she’s my mother… Can I really tell her that while we’re snuggled up on the sofa watching Spider Man Three, I’m secretly undressing James Franco with my eyes?  Of course not…”
The special bond takes a turn for the worse when Suze decides to start dating again.  She hasn’t had a man in her life since Megan’s father left ten years ago.
Enter two mysterious young men, Megan’s new classmate, sinfully attractive bad boy, Guy Matson, and the dangerously handsome art dealer, Armando.  Before long Megan and Suze both wind up in steamy relationships.  But neither of the handsome guys is quite what he seems.  In fact, one of them is Satan, with his sights set on a new bride.  Megan has precious little time to figure out how to stop him.  If she doesn’t, either Megan or Suze are quite literally going to HELL.
Boyfriend From Hell is the first book in the Falling Angels Saga from the author of the gruesomely hilarious, Never Slow Dance With A Zombie
About The Author

My Thoughts:
Ok my peeps, we have a new hot book here on our hands and I mean smoking hot.  I read this book in a day and a half it was that good, I even got caught at work having a peek into the next chapter, lol no worries though I was on my lunch break.  When I started this book I though this would be a read for a younger generation but to my surprise this book totally sucked me in right from get go and didn't let go until I was done.  No that's wrong, it still has a hold on me to the point I email Mr Lowe the Author and begged him to please let me be one of the bloggers to be able to read/review the second book in the series.  Boyfriend From Hell has the first chapter of the next book at the end of it and I couldn't put it down.  He said yes by the way lol so stay tuned for that review.

It was an easy book to read but don't read it to fast or you will miss some details that are very important.  Megan and her mom are the very best of friends and when her mom says she is going to start dating, Megan has a very bad feeling about this, and not too long after her mom starts dating she is proved right about her bad feeling when her mom meets Armando, a very yummy handsome Italian art dealer...so they think that's what he is.  Not long after mom meets Armando, Megan meets Guy a deliciously handsome new student at her school. Now they both have hot new men, but something is just not right about mom's and something about Megan's is a little of kilter as well.

Megan's best friends Matt and Erin think she is crazy when she has announced that she thinks her mom's boyfriend is Satan....yes Satan himself. So they give her a week to prove it or lose them forever.  As Megan sets out to prove she is not crazy, all hell breaks loose, literally all hell breaks loose.
I really liked Megan, at first she come's off as a spoiled brat who is being selfish not wanting to give up her mom's attention or affection, but as the book goes on you start to really like her more and more. I love her strength and persistence trying to save her mom and the love she has for her. I know this feeling as my mom means so very much to me as well.  This story will take you through all kinds of paths and just when you think you have this story all wrapped up and figured out the Author sends you down a totally different path you absolutely did not see coming.  I loved all the twists and turns and roller coaster ride he takes you on with this book, it was an awesome ride. I will not give anymore away, you will just have to pick up your copy cause if I say anymore I will spoil it for you and we all know I hate being spoiled.  This is a total must read. Hi I’m E. Van Lowe.  My given name is Ehrich (pronounced Eric), but my friends call me E.  I was born in New York City, but I now live in Southern California.

What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 20 or less words, what would you say?
My recent release is Boyfriend From Hell.  A short summary: Megan and her single mom, Suze, both date mysterious, handsome young men, one of whom turns out to be the devil, with his sights set on a new bride.

Do you have plans for a new book?   Is this book part of a series?
Boyfriend From Hell is part of a series. The Falling Angels Saga. The second book, Earth Angel, will be out around the end of the year.

At what age did you know you wanted to become a writer?
When I was ten-years-old I got pneumonia during the summer.  For a kid who loves the outdoors, being housebound all summer could have been unbearable. Fortunately, my mother knew me well.  She said “You love making up stories.  Why not write some of them down?”  Now, here’s the kicker.  She said: “You can make money.”  That was all my ten-year-old ears needed to hear.  I was already a big reader.  I started writing fiction.  It got me through the summer, and I’ve been writing ever since.

When you start to write a new novel, what is the process for you, do you start with a small idea and when you sit to write is that when the story starts to flow, or, before you start to write do you already have the whole story worked out?
My process varies, but I definitely don’t have the story all worked out when I start.  I usually come up with an idea.  I try to flesh it out on paper a little.  Then I write a chapter, with no idea where I’m headed.  I write the chapter to get a sense of the protagonist’s voice.  If I enjoyed the writing, I flesh it out more and start the novel.

When you write, do you write from start to finish, or in the middle, or at the end first?
I write from start to finish, although I do write some scenes out of order from time-to-time.

Have you based any of your characters on someone you know, or real events in your own life?
Yes, I have based characters loosely on people I know, but mostly they’re sides of me.   I have many people living in this crazy head of mine. LOL.

Is there an Author that you would really like to meet?
I would love to have met JD Salinger.  His Nine Stories had a great effect on me when I was learning to be a writer.  And Catcher InThe Rye was the first novel I read for school that I thought spoke directly to me.

Do you prefer ebooks, paperbacks or hardcover?
I love ebooks, but I still read paper.  Right now I have two paper books on my night stand: The Gunslinger that I borrowed from the library and The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan, along with my ipad loaded with books.

Are there any new Authors that have grasped your interest and why?
The uberkind, Amanda Hocking.  The Trylle Trilogy was so entertaining.  I’m about to start Hollowland.  I also love Stacey Jay.  She’s not new, but she’s new to me.  Death On The Delta is my favorite new book of the year.  Stacey’s flawed protagonist  along with killer fairies made this book an incredible read.

Is there anything you would change in your last book and why?
No.  The book is perfect.  Right?  Seriously, I don’t like looking back.  I read some of my bad reviews and if there’s a consensus on something people don’t like, I consider it moving forward. I spent most of my career writing for TV where there’s all sorts of testing and focus groups.  At first I hated the process, but then a sage older producer told me “everyone’s opinion matters.  Use the focus groups as a learning tool.”  I did, and it helped me grow as a writer.

Who designed the cover of your book?
Daniel Will-Harris.  He works for my publisher.  I thought he did a great job capturing the fun of the book while also coming up with something that stands out in a crowd.

Do you have a book trailer?  What are your thoughts on book trailers?
I do not have a book trailer yet.  I’ve heard they don’t sell books, but I still plan to have one at some point in time.

What is the best advice that you can give to aspiring writers?
Do not give up on your dream.  There will be lots of people giving you good reasons to give up.  Don’t listen to them—even if they’re your parents.  My father thought writing was a lousy profession.  I know he was doing what he thought was best.  Several million dollars later, I know he’s changed his mind.  But regardless of money, you should follow your dreams, so you don’t wake up one day wishing you had.  Give your writing career a fair and honest shot.

Do you or have you written/write under a pen name was?
Funny you should ask.  My alter ego, Sal Conte writes graphic horror.  I started out as Sal, writing horror novels while I was in college in the 80s (Childs Play & The Power) Now he’s back with new horror coming out in October.  You can visit him on my website (http://evanlowe.com/) where he has his own page.
